Parent's Rewards
The reward for a parent should be the
pride and satisfaction of seeing your child complete a fun and educational science
project. Seeing it displayed at school or beyond is a bonus.
Student's Rewards
SARSEF’s goal is to provide awards to as many students as possible. These
include trophies, ribbons, certificates, merchandise, and/or cash. Top
awards go to 6th - 8th grade students which are
selected to compete for travel to Washington DC
for the Broadcom MASTERS Competition and the top few High School
students are selected to travel to the International Science and Engineering Fair
, ISWEEEP or Genius Olympiad for further competition. One of our young competitors, now enrolled in college,
amassed $40,000 in scholarship funding through her Science Fair activities. Another
student has finished his degree at Stanford University and gives credit to the Science
Fair for his Stanford Scholarship, another is at Harvard.
But, the most important reward is the preparation of your student for the future. Certainly
not everyone wants to be or will be a scientist, doctor, mathematician, engineer,
or technologist, but the development of logic and thought process in doing a
science fair project will help any student, no mater what the career field of interest
may be in the future. It also is a big help in preparing for the AIMS
testing!
